Hey everyone,
Earlier this week I took an unexpected trip to Lisa’s cosmetics. It’s basically a big warehouse full of nail polish, skin care, make up and perfume — for men and women! You can check out more on their flyer (http://lisascosmetics.com/flyer2012spring.pdf)
It’s at 1380 Rodick Rd (rear of building) in Markham, Ontario. Parking was a bit hard to find, as there are people who have businesses and are working in other parts of the building.
They’ll be open for a few more days, May 4-7 and again on May 11-14. Their hours are Saturday 9am-6pm / Sunday 10am – 6pm / Monday anf Friday 10am – 8pm.
Unfortunately, there are no strollers or children (under 12) allowed. I don’t think there are exceptions, as I saw two families with children get turned away. I believe their father stayed with the child in the car, or something. The security felt bad (since it was also raining) but he said that it was the rules, and he couldn’t let them in.
There was good reason though, even though I went during the day (around 2pm) there were a lot of people, and you basically had to either wait a long time to see something, or you had to push. Luckily, I was able to slyly fit between groups of people looking without having to push anyone. (+1 for tiny asian girl)
I didn’t get to take pictures, there wasn’t much time or space to. Everyone seemed to be in a rush going through everything and did not care if they pushed you. (Yes, I was pushed a bit)
But here’s some of what I purchased.
Sally Hansen nail polish, $1 a bottle!
some perfume for Mother’s day, price is secret 😉
Dolce & Gabbana – light blue $55
(Seriously, this smells so good. Well worth the money)
And something I’ve been drooling over, but never bought because it’s $90 in all stores I’ve checked out.
(It was $75 at the sale, which is still pretty expensive, but I couldn’t take not having this anymore)
Somehow I ended up spending $255.xx after taxes, which is a lot of money. I already had to put down the Gucci perfume as well as the YSL perfume. I also bought a few random things here and there, but I didn’t take pictures of them.
All in all, it’s a good place to check out. Especially if you like perfume (but you won’t find Chanel or Dior there) and if you like really inexpensive make up items. They also have men’s perfume, which I originally thought the D&G light blue was from, but I was too in awe of the big warehouse and all the items and couldn’t remember which section I got it from — so I just kept it for myself.
I also suggest going there before 3pm (on weekdays), as many people will still be at work. When I went there was no line, but I heard the line can be horrendous.
I will probably check the sale out next year, after I freshen-up my knowledge of make up and plan on which other perfumes to buy.
